Pamela Mattel, LCSW has been working in the field of primary and behavioral healthcare for 30 years. Ms. Mattel graduated from Columbia University with a Master's in Social Work and holds certificates in several post-graduate programs.

Currently, Ms. Mattel is the Chief Operating Officer of Acacia Network, the second largest Hispanic Non-Profit in the country. Acacia's mission "to partner with our communities, lead change, and promote healthy and prosperous individuals and families", employs over 1,700 people with an operating budget of approximately 200 million dollars. The Network serves upwards of 10,000 people daily through open access to care, bilingual quality services, with an emphasis on excellence, commitment, customer service, and leadership. Ms. Mattel oversees the Acacia Health Neighborhood, a comprehensive integrated continuum of care including 7 Community Health Centers, 18 behavioral healthcare outpatient and residential treatment programs, a Medicaid certified health home, a skilled nursing home for people living with HIV/AIDS, numerous federal, state and local HIV/AIDS grants, day care and after school programming, transitional and supportive housing division encompassing over 1,500 housing units, and affordable housing with 1,500 units.

Ms. Mattel is steadfastly focused on ensuring quality care for vulnerable communities, in part, by supporting Acacia through implementation of evidenced based protocols, staff ownership, community engagement, and solid collaborative relationships with community partners. She has led several initiatives receiving national attention related to increased access and integrated behavioral and primary healthcare.

She is an active participant on the New York State Medicaid Redesign Health Disparities, and Social Determinants of Health Subcommittees which propose numerous recommendations many already approved and enacted by the legislature.

Ms. Mattel has been leading the Acacia Network Medicaid Health Home Initiative in partnership with the Bronx Accountable Health Network including Montifiore Hospital, St. Barnabas Hospital, Union Health Center, and Morris Heights Health Center. Ms. Mattel spearheaded the application for Level III Patient Centered Medical Home and Meaningful Use. She sought and was awarded a HEAL 6 grant in 2008 designed to bring primary healthcare to the homeless population via a 42 foot state of the art mobile healthcare van. Currently, she is actively involved in the NYS Delivery Reform Incentive Payment System (DSRIP) Performing Provider Bronx Regional Partnership tasked with transforming the health care delivery system.

Ms. Mattel is actively involved with local, state and federal agencies and their leaders and has helped Acacia Network become known as the "can do" organization ready, able, and willing to bring high quality care to vulnerable communities.

She has been a significant force in the areas of clinical supervision, and co-occurring disorders writing several curricula for New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS), the Northeast Addiction Technology Transfer Center, and the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment. Ms. Mattel was one of the panel of experts for two SAMHSA technical assistance publications on clinical supervision.

She has taught at Hunter College and York College in New York City, and was an adjunct professor and faculty liaison for Adelphi University's School of Social Work Master's Program.
